Fatboy Slim & The Rolling Stones

Satisfaction Skank

Rolling Stones: Fatboy Slim's remix of “Satisfaction” authorized after 25 years.
After a quarter of a century spent on the fringes of record industry legality, Fatboy Slim's remix, which intertwines the riff from “Satisfaction” with his single “The Rockafeller Skank,” is finally preparing for official release. The Rolling Stones have given the green light to the commercial distribution of “Satisfaction Skank,” a track created in 2000 that has become one of the most circulated files on early file-sharing platforms such as Napster and Kazaa.

The project was the brainchild of Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, who says he grew tired of playing the original version of the 1965 classic and decided to rework it into a dance track. Despite initial contact about a possible collaboration, the band refused to authorize its official use, leaving the track in a sort of creative and legal limbo. “I got a call from Mick Jagger, who told me he had listened to the song and liked the mix,” Cook told the BBC. “Initially, the management was adamant: ‘No, no way.’ It was a flat no for twenty years. I think we asked four times, then I would never have dared to do it again.”

Years later, it was Mick Jagger's band that reopened the case, not only approving the release but also providing the master recordings, resulting in a superior audio quality compared to the remix that had been circulating informally.
The decision confirms the more flexible approach the Stones are taking towards the reworking of their catalog: a stance that already emerged in 2019, when they granted The Verve full ownership of “Bittersweet Symphony” after a two-decade dispute.

Eynka and Matador join forces: “The Way (Extended Mix)” is out now

The Way

The melodic techno scene is enriched by a collaboration of the highest level. British trio Eynka returns to the spotlight alongside a true legend of electronic music, Ireland's Matador, for the release of their new single: “The Way.”

A sonic journey between darkness and melody

“The Way” is not just a track, but an immersive experience that perfectly blends the sonic identities of the two artists.

On the one hand, we find the surgical precision and hypnotic bass typical of Matador (head of the Rukus label), and on the other, the ethereal and cinematic atmospheres that have made Eynka one of the hottest names on the current scene.

The Extended Mix takes all the time it needs to build tension:

The Groove: A solid, pulsating kick drum that sets the pace from the very first seconds.

The Evolution: Layers of synthesizers intertwine in an emotional crescendo.

The Break: An almost celestial moment of suspension that explodes into a powerful and deep drop, designed for the most demanding dancefloors.

Why this is a release not to be missed

Already supported by the heavyweights of the circuit (from Solomun to Pete Tong), “The Way” confirms the trend of melodic techno that does not compromise on club power. The track positions itself as a perfect bridge between progressive house and the most refined techno.

“Working with Matador was a natural process. We wanted to create something that was both introspective and suitable for large stages,” Eynka said of the collaboration.

Where to listen to it

The track is available today on all streaming platforms and major digital stores such as Beatport and Traxsource. If you are a DJ or a fan of deep and sophisticated sounds, the Extended Mix is an essential piece for your late 2025 collection.
